United Neighbors

United Neighbors is a collaboration between community members and local organizations, who work to organize a collective celebration of the communities on both sides of I-95 through Wilmington. By closing down the bridges across I-95 (6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th Street, and Delaware Avenue Bridges), the West Side and West Center City Communities literally bridge the gap I-95 created through art, improvements, food, conversation, and celebration.

About United Neighbors

United Neighbors was established in 2018 to celebrate the communities bordering I-95, emphasizing their unique experiences, rich history, and impact of I-95, as well as their hope for the future of their community. United Neighbors, with leadership of local artists and residents, has completed six collaborative murals on the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th Street Bridges, plus Delaware Avenue, across I-95 between Adams & Jackson Streets. In realizing this event, United Neighbors believes that they will “bridge” the neighborhoods that I-95 divided back when it was constructed.
